Managing Director Internet and Gaming XPCP China

Marc Van der Chijs is Managing Director for China, based in Shanghai, China. Mr Van der Chijs has more than 17 years of professional experience working with multinational companies, Venture Capital, and venture backed Start-up companies in Europe and China.

Mr. Van der Chijs was the founder of Tudou.com, a leading online video site, listed on NASDAQ in 2011, and merger with Youku into Youku Tudou Inc. in 2012. He also founded and invested in United Styles, an online customized fashion platform, launched at Techcrunch Disrupt Beijing, and chosen as top 10 most innovative global fashion companies by FastCompany.

From 2006 until 2011 Mr. Van der Chijs was the CEO for Asia of Spil Games,  an online game platform with game studios in Europe and Shanghai. Prior to that he was a Managing Partner at China Bay Partners, doing market-entry consulting for foreign companies planning to set up operations in  China. From 1996 until 2002 Mr.Van der Chijs worked for Daimler Benz in various finance roles in Germany, US and HK.

Mr. Van der Chijs has a Masters in Business Economics from Maastricht University, and studied Mandarin at Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Mr. Van der Chijs speaks Dutch, English, and a fair bit of Mandarin.
